I’m a Chicago-based Creative Director, commercial illustrator, and graphic designer creating memorable visual experiences for brands, bands, and artists.
I believe great design should do more than look good. It should tell a story, create an emotional connection, and leave a lasting impression. Whether I’m developing national campaigns for global brands or illustrating album artwork for an independent musician, my goal is to create meaningful work that feels authentic to the people behind it.
Alongside my independent practice, I have spent more than a decade creating work for Fortune 500 companies and nationally recognized brands across the food and beverage, entertainment, retail, and consumer packaged goods industries. My experience includes creative direction, branding, packaging, experiential marketing, retail displays, illustration, motion graphics, presentation design, and 3D visualization.
Music has always been an important part of my life. As a drummer and guitarist, I understand how personal an artist’s visual identity can be. Through Shanconart, I collaborate with bands and musicians on album artwork, merchandise, tour graphics, logos, and promotional materials that capture the personality of their music and help them stand apart.
Outside of client work, I create personal artwork inspired by my Japanese and Irish heritage. I enjoy combining elements of traditional Japanese illustration with Celtic folklore, mythology, and fantasy - often through original artwork for my personal Magic: The Gathering Commander decks.
